Special Weather Statement National Weather Service Lincoln IL 1250 PM CST Wed Jan 14 2026 ...Brief Snow Bursts This Afternoon... Brief snow bursts will still occur across parts of northeast and east central Illinois this afternoon as another wave of precipitation moves south into the area. Visibilities could be reduced to below 1 mile at times. Motorists are advised to leave extra time to reach their destinations this afternoon and be prepared for hazardous travel. Take it slow and keep a safe following distance when driving through snow bursts. With temperatures now below freezing, patchy icy spots are possible, especially on untreated surfaces, bridges, and overpasses.
