URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Sioux Falls SD 923 PM CST Sat Jan 17 2026 ...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 3 AM TO 9 PM CST SUNDAY... * WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations up to one inch but locally higher in very narrow snow bands. Winds gusting 40 to 55 mph. * WHERE...Portions of northwest and west central Iowa, southwest Minnesota, northeast Nebraska, and central, east central, south central, and southeast South Dakota. * WHEN...From 3 AM to 9 PM CST Sunday. * IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. Falling and blowing snow will lead to areas of quick and sudden reductions in visibility, making travel difficult, especially in rural areas that are prone to blowing snow. Strong winds could cause tree damage. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Strong winds and snow showers will result in visibilities as low as one half mile at times.
