URGENT - WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Medford OR 1215 PM PST Sun Jan 18 2026 ...AIR STAGNATION ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 PM PST WEDNESDAY WITHIN THE VALLEYS IN DOUGLAS, JOSEPHINE AND JACKSON COUNTIES... ...DENSE FOG ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 7 PM THIS EVENING TO NOON PST MONDAY... * WHAT...For the Air Stagnation Advisory Within the valleys in Douglas, Josephine and Jackson Counties, poor air quality will continue. This is due to an inversion and stagnant air conditions near the surface that will continue to trap pollutants. For the Dense Fog Advisory, visibility one quarter mile or less in dense fog, especially over elevated roads. * WHERE...Within the valleys of Douglas County. * WHEN...For the Air Stagnation Advisory, until 4 PM PST Wednesday. For the Dense Fog Advisory, from 7 PM this evening to noon PST Monday. * IMPACTS...Poor air quality may cause issues for people with respiratory problems. Low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Persons with respiratory illness should follow their physicians advice for dealing with high levels of air pollution during periods of stagnant air. If driving, slow down, use your headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.
