URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Marquette MI 206 AM EST Thu Jan 22 2026 ...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 AM EST FRIDAY... * WHAT...Lake Effect Snow. Additional snow accumulations 2 to 8 inches. Highest snowfall amounts are expected north of M-28, east of Munising. Lowest amounts expected along M-28. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph will result in blowing snow, especially by the lakeshores and in open areas. * WHERE...Alger, Luce, and Northern Schoolcraft Counties. * WHEN...Until 7 AM EST Friday. * IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. Areas of blowing snow will significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions will impact the Thursday morning and evening commutes. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
