URGENT - WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Grand Rapids MI 347 AM EST Fri Jan 23 2026 ...COLD WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 AM EST SATURDAY... * WHAT...Very cold wind chills as low as 20 to 25 below. * WHERE...Calhoun, Eaton, Ingham, Jackson, Allegan, Barry, Kalamazoo, and Van Buren Counties. * WHEN...Until 11 AM EST Saturday. * IMPACTS...These dangerously cold wind chills could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes. Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin is exposed to these temperatures. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Avoid outside activities if possible. When outside, make sure you wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves. Keep pets indoors as much as possible. Considering checking in on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills inside.
