URGENT - WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Detroit/Pontiac MI 356 AM EST Fri Jan 23 2026 ...COLD WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 AM EST SATURDAY... * WHAT...Very cold wind chills as low as 25 below zero. * WHERE...Southeast Michigan. * WHEN...Until 10 AM EST Saturday. * IMPACTS...Dangerously cold wind chills as low as 25 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes. Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin is exposed to these temperatures. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The coldest conditions are expected between 5 AM and 10 AM this morning. Wind chills will remain well below zero through the rest of today and into Saturday morning. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Keep pets indoors as much as possible. Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves. Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators inside.
