URGENT - WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Indianapolis IN 945 AM EST Fri Jan 23 2026 ...COLD WEATHER ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON EST SATURDAY... * WHAT...Very cold wind chills as low as 15 to 21 below zero. * WHERE...Portions of central, east central, north central, and west central Indiana. * WHEN...Until noon EST Saturday. * IMPACTS...The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 20 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes. Very cold temperatures can lead to hypothermia with prolonged exposure. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves. Keep pets indoors as much as possible. Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills inside.
