URGENT - WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Memphis TN 1019 PM CST Sat Jan 24 2026 ...COLD WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM CST SUNDAY... ...EXTREME COLD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM SUNDAY TO NOON CST TUESDAY... * WHAT...For the Cold Weather Advisory, very cold wind chills as low as 10 below. For the Extreme Cold Warning, dangerously cold wind chills as low as 15 below expected. * WHERE...Portions of East Arkansas, North Mississippi, Southeast Missouri, and West Tennessee. * WHEN...For the Cold Weather Advisory, until 6 PM CST Sunday. For the Extreme Cold Warning, from 6 PM Sunday to noon CST Tuesday. * IMPACTS...The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 20 below zero could result in hypothermia or frostbite if precautions are not taken. Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin is exposed to these temperatures. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Dress in layers including a hat, face mask, and gloves if you must go outside. Keep pets indoors as much as possible. Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors.
