URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Buffalo NY 911 PM EST Sun Jan 25 2026 ...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 AM EST TUESDAY... * WHAT...Heavy snow. Additional snow accumulations 6 to 11 inches. The highest amounts are expected along the Lake Ontario shore and southeast of Lake Ontario due to lake enhancement. * WHERE...Monroe, Wayne, Northern Cayuga, Oswego, Jefferson, and Lewis Counties. * WHEN...Until 7 AM EST Tuesday. * IMPACTS...Travel will be difficult. The hazardous conditions will impact the Monday morning and evening commutes. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The bulk of the heavy snow is expected to taper overnight, with moderate snow continuing along the southern and southeastern shores of Lake Ontario through Monday night, especially from Wayne to Oswego counties . PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Widespread accumulating snow will create dangerous travel conditions. Submit snow reports through our website or social media. Consider delaying travel. If you must travel, drive with extreme caution. Leave plenty of room between you and the motorist ahead of you, and allow extra time to reach your destination.
