URGENT - WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Albany NY 1230 AM EST Thu Jan 29 2026 ...COLD WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 7 PM THIS EVENING TO 11 AM EST FRIDAY... * WHAT...Very cold wind chills as low as 15 to 25 below expected. * WHERE...Northwestern Connecticut, western Massachusetts, and the Mohawk and Schoharie Valleys, Greater Capital Region, mid Hudson Valley, Taconics and Glens Falls-Saratoga Region of eastern New York. * WHEN...From 7 PM this evening to 11 AM EST Friday. * IMPACTS...The dangerously cold wind chills could result in hypothermia or frostbite if precautions are not taken. Frostbite can occur on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves.
