URGENT - WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Baltimore MD/Washington DC 925 AM EST Fri Jan 30 2026 ...COLD WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 8 PM THIS EVENING TO 11 AM EST SATURDAY... * WHAT...Very cold wind chills as low as 5 below expected. * WHERE...King George, Orange, Spotsylvania, Culpeper, Southern Fauquier, Stafford, Madison, and Rappahannock Counties. * WHEN...From 8 PM this evening to 11 AM EST Saturday. * IMPACTS...The cold wind chills as low as 5 below zero could result in hypothermia if precautions are not taken. Wind chill values can lead to hypothermia with prolonged exposure. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves. Keep pets indoors as much as possible. Make sure outdoor animals have a warm, dry shelter, food, and unfrozen water. Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills inside.
