URGENT - WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Melbourne FL 354 AM EST Sat Jan 31 2026 ...WIND ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 3 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO 7 AM EST SUNDAY... ...EXTREME COLD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 7 PM THIS EVENING TO 1 PM EST SUNDAY... ...FREEZE WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 7 PM THIS EVENING TO 1 PM EST SUNDAY... * WHAT...For the Wind Advisory, northwest winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts of 40 to 50 mph expected. For the Extreme Cold Warning, dangerously cold wind chills 9 to 15 degrees expected. For the Freeze Warning, hard freezing temperatures as low as 22 expected. * WHERE...All counties in east central Florida, including Volusia, Lake, Seminole, Orange, Brevard, Osceola, Indian River, Okeechobee, Saint Lucie, and Martin. * WHEN...For the Wind Advisory, from 3 PM this afternoon to 7 AM EST Sunday. For the Extreme Cold Warning and Freeze Warning, from 7 PM this evening to 1 PM EST Sunday. * IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Hard freeze conditions could kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution. Dress in layers including a hat, face mask, and gloves if you must go outside. To prevent water pipes from freezing; wrap or drain or allow them to drip slowly. Keep pets indoors as much as possible. Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills inside. If you do not have heat in your home or lack shelter, you can call 211 or visit your local county website for assistance locating appropriate shelter from the cold. Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold.
