URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Raleigh NC 334 PM EST Sat Jan 31 2026 ...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 PM EST SUNDAY... * WHAT...Heavy snow. Additional snow accumulations between 2 and 4 inches with locally higher amounts of 4 to 6 inches possible east of I-95. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph. * WHERE...Coastal Plain and eastern Sandhills. * WHEN...Until 1 PM EST Sunday. * IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Travel could be very difficult or even impossible at times. Gusty winds will likely cause blowing and drifting snow that may cause brief blizzard conditions. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Persons should consider delaying all travel. Motorists should use extreme caution if travel is absolutely necessary.
