URGENT - WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Baltimore MD/Washington DC 1205 PM EST Sun Feb 1 2026 ...COLD WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 10 PM THIS EVENING TO 8 AM EST MONDAY... * WHAT...Very cold wind chills as low as 4 below expected. * WHERE...Washington DC, and portions of central, northeast, northern, and southern Maryland, and northern Virginia. * WHEN...From 10 PM this evening to 8 AM EST Monday. * IMPACTS...Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin is exposed to these temperatures. Wind chill values can lead to hypothermia with prolonged exposure. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves. Keep pets indoors as much as possible. Make sure outdoor animals have a warm, dry shelter, food, and unfrozen water. Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills inside.
