URGENT - WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Albany NY 1251 AM EST Thu Feb 5 2026 ...EXTREME COLD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM SATURDAY EVENING THROUGH SUNDAY AFTERNOON... * WHAT...Dangerously cold wind chills between 20 and 35 degrees below below possible. * WHERE...The Hudson Valley and Taconics in eastern New York and all of western New England. * WHEN...From Saturday evening through Sunday afternoon. * IMPACTS...The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 35 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 10 minutes. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Dress in layers including a hat, face mask, and gloves if you must go outside. To prevent water pipes from freezing; wrap or drain or allow them to drip slowly.
