URGENT - WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Baltimore MD/Washington DC 837 PM EST Sun Feb 8 2026 ...COLD WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 AM EST MONDAY... * WHAT...Very cold wind chills as low as 8 below zero expected. * WHERE...Washington, D.C., and portions of central, north central, northeast, northern, and southern Maryland, and northern Virginia. * WHEN...Until 10 AM EST Monday. * IMPACTS...The cold wind chills as low as 8 below zero could result in hypothermia if precautions are not taken. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves. Keep pets indoors as much as possible. Make sure outdoor animals have a warm, dry shelter, food, and unfrozen water. Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills inside. If you do not have heat in your home or lack shelter, you can call 211 or visit your local county or city website for assistance locating appropriate shelter from the cold.
