URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Marquette MI 312 AM EST Tue Feb 24 2026 ...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM THIS MORNING TO 7 PM EST THIS EVENING... * WHAT...Heavy snow and blowing snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 4 and 8 inches. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph. * WHERE...Alger, Delta, Luce, Northern Schoolcraft, and Southern Schoolcraft Counties. * WHEN...From 10 AM this morning to 7 PM EST this evening. * IMPACTS...Visibilities may drop below 1/4 mile due to falling and blowing snow. Travel could be very difficult. Widespread blowing snow will significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions will impact the Tuesday evening commute. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The highest snowfall amounts are expected to be along and east of a line from Munising to Rapid River. Snowfall rates of 1 inch per hour are expected for several hours during the afternoon. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency. Prepare for possible power outages.
