Special Weather Statement National Weather Service Charleston SC 327 AM EDT Mon Mar 9 2026 ...AREAS OF FOG DEVELOPING ACROSS PARTS OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA LOWCOUNTRY... Mostly clear skies, light winds and wet conditions left over from Sunday's rainfall is aiding the development of areas of fog this morning. The fog is expected to steadily expand across parts of the South Carolina Lowcountry through daybreak, some of which could become locally dense at times with visibilities dropping to 1/4 mile or less. A Dense Fog Advisory may be needed for parts of the area prior to 6 AM. Motorists should remain alert for areas of lower visibilities. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... If driving, slow down and leave extra distance ahead of you in case a sudden stop is needed.
