Special Weather Statement National Weather Service Pendleton OR 1256 PM PDT Thu Mar 19 2026 ...Elevated Fire Weather Risk Today and Friday Afternoon... Much warmer than normal temperatures and dry conditions will continue This Afternoon and again on Friday Afternoon over central Oregon. Winds each afternoon have the capability to gust between 20 and 30 mph. This combination of strong winds and low relative humidity can contribute to rapid fire spread. A cold front Friday night and Saturday morning will bring relief to the very low relative humidity. Anywhere grasses have not greened up will experience an elevated level of fire weather risk Today and Friday. Any fire that develops can catch and spread quickly. Outdoor burning is not recommended each afternoon. In addition to the areas listed above, this statement also includes the Sisters and La Pine areas.
