URGENT - WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Anchorage AK 109 PM AKDT Mon Mar 23 2026 ...WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM TUESDAY TO 1 PM AKDT WEDNESDAY... * WHAT...Northeast winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 55 mph expected. * WHERE...Lower Matanuska Valley. * WHEN...From 1 PM Tuesday to 1 PM AKDT Wednesday. * IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects and a few power outages may result. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Winds will be strongest Tuesday night and will be directed toward Wasilla and the Parks Highway corridor. Palmer will see comparatively lower wind speeds, but still gusty. The strongest winds will diminish by Wednesday afternoon, but winds remain gusty through Thursday. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
