Special Weather Statement National Weather Service Greenville-Spartanburg SC 405 AM EDT Sun Mar 29 2026 ...INCREASED FIRE DANGER THROUGH THIS EVENING... While moisture is expected to begin slowly recovering today, another very dry afternoon is expected with relative humidity values between 15 and 25 percent forecast across much of the area. Although winds will be mostly light, between 5 and 10 mph, the dry air combined with very dry vegetation will result in a continuation of elevated fire danger. Statewide burn bans are in effect for both North Carolina and South Carolina until further notice. Open burning of any kind is subject to fines until the bans are lifted.
