URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Rapid City SD 1058 PM MDT Thu Apr 2 2026 ...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 3 AM MDT SATURDAY... * WHAT...Mixed precipitation and patchy blowing snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 1 and 5 inches and ice accumulations around one tenth of an inch. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph. * WHERE...Southern Meade Co Plains, Sturgis/Piedmont Foothills, Pennington Co Plains, and Rapid City. * WHEN...Until 3 AM MDT Saturday. * IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. The combination of falling snow and winds will lead to periods of blowing snow that may briefly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the Friday morning and evening commutes.
