Special Weather Statement National Weather Service Binghamton NY 248 PM EDT Wed Apr 8 2026 ...ELEVATED RISK OF WILDFIRE SPREAD THURSDAY IN NORTHEAST PENNSYLVANIA... The combination of dry fine fuels, southerly wind gusts of to 20 to 30 mph, and relative humidity values as low as 20 to 35 percent will contribute to an elevated risk for fire spread on Thursday for Northeast Pennsylvania. Be sure to heed any local and state burning regulations. This statement has been issued in coordination with the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources.
