URGENT - FIRE WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Sioux Falls SD 135 AM CDT Mon Apr 20 2026 ...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM THIS MORNING TO 8 PM CDT THIS EVENING FOR WIND AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR FAR EASTERN SOUTH DAKOTA AND SOUTHWESTERN MINNESOTA... The National Weather Service in Sioux Falls has issued a Red Flag Warning for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect from 11 AM this morning to 8 PM CDT this evening. * AFFECTED AREA...In Minnesota, Rock. In South Dakota, Kingsbury, Lake, Moody and Minnehaha. * WINDS...South 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 20 percent. * IMPACTS...Any fire that develops will catch and spread quickly. Outdoor burning is not recommended. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly.
