Special Weather Statement National Weather Service Duluth MN 117 PM CDT Thu May 7 2026 ...NEAR CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS ACROSS PORTIONS OF NORTHEAST MINNESOTA THURSDAY AFTERNOON... Relative humidity values will drop to around 25 percent along with northwest winds up to 20 mph across the Brainerd Lakes Region. Given the extremely dry fuels, near critical fire weather conditions are expected for the afternoon hours. Any fire that does develop has the potential to quickly spread.
