Special Weather Statement National Weather Service Gaylord MI 336 AM EDT Fri May 15 2026 ...Elevated fire danger across northern lower Michigan today... The combination of dry surface conditions, low afternoon relative humidity values, and gusty south to southwest winds will result in elevated fire danger conditions across northern lower Michigan today. Sustained winds of 10 to 18 mph with gusts of 20 to 30 mph will be seen over northern Michigan late this morning through this afternoon. Minimum relative humidity values of 25 to 35 percent are expected over much of northern lower Michigan. These conditions could lead to rapid spread of fires.
