URGENT - WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Boston/Norton MA 159 AM EDT Tue May 19 2026 ...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM THIS MORNING TO 8 PM EDT WEDNESDAY... * WHAT...Heat index values up to 96 expected. * WHERE...Much of Southern New England, except for the eastern slopes of the Berkshires, the Rhode Island and Massachusetts South Coast, Cape Cod and the Islands. * WHEN...From 11 AM this morning to 8 PM EDT Wednesday. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures, a moderate degree of humidity with little relief Tuesday night may cause heat illnesses. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
