Special Weather Statement National Weather Service Gaylord MI 726 AM EDT Sun May 31 2026 ...Elevated fire danger across northern lower Michigan today... The combination of drying fuels, low relative humidity values, and breezy winds will result in elevated fire danger conditions across northern lower Michigan today. Northwest winds between 5-10 mph will gust to 15 mph at times through this afternoon. Relative humidity values between 15-30 percent are expected across parts of interior northern Michigan with the potential for localized minimum relative humidity readings in the low teens. These conditions support the quick start and spread of wildfires, so be sure to take the proper precautions to prevent fires from starting.
