URGENT - WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Jackson MS 250 AM CDT Thu Jun 11 2026 ...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM FRIDAY TO 8 PM CDT SATURDAY... * WHAT...Heat index values around 105 degrees expected. * WHERE...Portions of southeast Arkansas, northeast Louisiana, and central, north central, northwest, south central, southeast, southwest, and west central Mississippi. * WHEN...From 11 AM Friday to 8 PM CDT Saturday. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Low temperatures in the mid to upper 70s are expected Friday night. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments.
