URGENT - WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Portland OR 1053 AM PDT Fri Jun 19 2026 ...EXTREME HEAT WATCH IN EFFECT FROM MONDAY MORNING THROUGH TUESDAY EVENING... * WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with temperatures up to 95 to 100 possible. * WHERE...Western and Central Columbia River Gorge, Portland Metro Lowlands, Inner Vancouver Metro, and East Clark County Lowlands. * WHEN...From Monday morning through Tuesday evening. * IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat events. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Drink plenty of fluids, stay in a cool place during the heat of the day, stay out of the sunshine, and check up on relatives and neighbors. For those without air conditioning, use fans to keep air moving. Keeps windows closed during the day and open at night, unless air quality is degraded due to wildfire smoke. Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.
