URGENT - FIRE WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Fairbanks AK 253 PM AKDT Sat Jun 20 2026 ...RED FLAG WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM AKDT SUNDAY FOR LIGHTNING... * AFFECTED AREA...Central and Eastern Interior. * TIMING...Until 10 PM AKDT Sunday. * THUNDERSTORM COVERAGE INDEX...Scattered. * WINDS...Near thunderstorms, gusts could reach as high as 40 mph. * HUMIDITY...As low as 25 percent. * TEMPERATURES...Highs in the upper 80s. Lows in the mid 40s. * IMPACTS...Critical fire weather conditions are expected this weekend due to a combination of thunderstorm activity, temperatures reaching into the low 80s, relative humidities near 25 percent, and gusty winds. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Red Flag Warning means that conditions are occurring or will occur which could lead to the development of large and dangerous fires.
