URGENT - WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Detroit/Pontiac MI 320 AM EDT Mon Jun 29 2026 ...EXTREME HEAT WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM TUESDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH THURSDAY EVENING... * WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with heat index values exceeding 105 degrees. * WHERE...A portion of southeast Michigan. * WHEN...From Tuesday afternoon through Thursday evening. * IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Extended period of hot and humid conditions expected Tuesday through at least Thursday. High temperatures reaching the mid 90s to near 100 degrees. This will lead to heat index values of 105 degrees or greater each day. Little relief overnight with low temperatures each night in the low to mid 70s. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles.
