URGENT - WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Greenville-Spartanburg SC 223 AM EDT Thu Jul 2 2026 ...HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM NOON TODAY TO 8 PM EDT THIS EVENING... * WHAT...Heat index values up to 107 expected. * WHERE...Portions of northeast Georgia, Piedmont and western North Carolina, and Upstate South Carolina. * WHEN...From noon today to 8 PM EDT this evening. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.
