URGENT - WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Indianapolis IN 1230 AM EDT Fri Jul 3 2026 ...EXTREME HEAT WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM EDT THIS EVENING... ...HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 8 PM THIS EVENING TO 9 PM EDT SATURDAY... * WHAT...For the Extreme Heat Warning, dangerously hot conditions with heat index values up to 110. For the Heat Advisory, heat index values up to 105 expected. * WHERE...All of central Indiana * WHEN...For the Extreme Heat Warning, until 8 PM EDT this evening. For the Heat Advisory, from 8 PM this evening to 9 PM EDT Saturday. * IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events. Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Thunderstorm activity on Saturday may bring an earlier end to the Heat Advisory in some locations. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.
