URGENT - WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Albany NY 119 AM EDT Fri Jul 3 2026 ...EXTREME HEAT WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM EDT THIS EVENING... * WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with heat index values up to 105. * WHERE...Northern Litchfield County in northwestern Connecticut, the southern Berkshires of western Massachusetts, southern Herkimer, southern Fulton, Montgomery, Schoharie, Albany, Schenectady, Saratoga, southeast Warren, Washington, Rensselaer, Eastern Columbia and Western Ulster Counties in eastern New York, and Bennington and eastern Windham Counties in southern Vermont. * WHEN...Until 8 PM EDT this evening. * IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.
