URGENT - WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Quad Cities IA IL 1025 AM CDT Wed Jul 15 2026 ...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM CDT THIS EVENING... * WHAT...Heat index values in the lower 100s. * WHERE...In Illinois, Carroll, Jo Daviess, and Stephenson Counties. In Iowa, Jackson and Dubuque Counties. * WHEN...Until 8 PM CDT this evening. * IMPACTS...High temperatures and humidity may cause heat illnesses. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Wildfire smoke aloft if dense could limit high temperatures by a few degrees and lead to lower heat index readings. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
