URGENT - WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Amarillo TX 330 PM CDT Thu Jul 23 2026 ...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM CDT THIS EVENING... * WHAT...Air temperatures and/or Heat index values up to 105. * WHERE...Portions of the Panhandle of Oklahoma and the Panhandle of Texas. * WHEN...Until 9 PM CDT this evening. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments.
