URGENT - WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Midland/Odessa TX 1240 AM CDT Tue Jul 28 2026 ...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM MDT /9 PM CDT/ TUESDAY... * WHAT...Temperatures up to 99 mountains, 107 plains. * WHERE...Guadalupe Mountains of west Texas and Southeast New Mexico, Eddy County Plains, Loving, Ward, Eastern Culberson, Reeves County Plains, Chinati Mountains, and Davis Mountains. * WHEN...Until 8 PM MDT /9 PM CDT/ Tuesday. * IMPACTS...Pets may succumb to the effects of extreme heat. The elderly, very young, sick, and people with heart conditions are most at risk in extreme heat. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Drink plenty of fluids even if you don't feel thirsty, but avoid alcohol and caffeine.
