URGENT - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED Flood Watch National Weather Service New York NY 159 AM EDT Mon Aug 3 2026 ...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT THROUGH THIS EVENING... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...A portion of southeast New York, including the following areas, Bronx, Kings (Brooklyn), New York (Manhattan), Northern Queens, Richmond (Staten Island) and Southern Queens. * WHEN...Through this evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Rounds of heavy showers with embedded thunderstorms are expected through this afternoon with localized rainfall rates of 1" to possibly 2" per hour possible.
