URGENT - WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Medford OR 1003 PM PDT Mon Aug 3 2026 ...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM TUESDAY TO 11 PM PDT THURSDAY... * WHAT...Hot temperatures of 100 to 110 degrees, possibly up to 115 degrees in the Klamath River Valley, are expected with low temperatures in the mid to upper 60s. * WHERE...In California, Western Siskiyou County. In Oregon, Eastern Curry County and Josephine County and Jackson County. * WHEN...From 11 AM Tuesday to 11 PM PDT Thursday. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures will lead to a moderate or major risk of heat illnesses, especially for those without adequate cooling methods. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...A major risk of heat related illnesses is possible for the valleys on Wednesday as hot temperatures peak. This level of heat will impact anyone without cooling methods. Periods of smoke could limit the ability to open windows for cooler air at night. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 9 1 1.
