URGENT - WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Mount Holly NJ 249 AM EDT Thu Aug 6 2026 ...HEAT ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM THIS MORNING TO 8 PM EDT SATURDAY... * WHAT...Heat index values up to 103 degrees expected. * WHERE...Portions of northern Delaware, central, northern, and southern New Jersey, and southeast Pennsylvania. * WHEN...From 10 AM this morning to 8 PM EDT Saturday. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Warm and very humid conditions at night will not offer much relief from the heat and humidity. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments.
