URGENT - WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Sacramento CA 946 AM PDT Thu Aug 6 2026 ...HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM FRIDAY TO 10 PM PDT SUNDAY... * WHAT...High temperatures of 102 to 108 and low temperatures of 65 to 75 expected, with Moderate to Major HeatRisk. * WHERE...Northern, Central, Southern Sacramento Valley and adjacent foothills, San Joaquin Valley, and foothills of the Sierra. * WHEN...From 10 AM Friday to 10 PM PDT Sunday. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures may cause heat illnesses, especially anyone without effective cooling and/or adequate hydration. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The heat is expected to peak on Saturday, with Major HeatRisk. Hottest temperatures expected in the northern Sacramento Valley. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
