URGENT - WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Jackson MS 828 PM CDT Tue Aug 11 2026 ...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM TO 8 PM CDT WEDNESDAY... * WHAT...Heat index values up to 110 expected. * WHERE...Portions of central, east central, north central, northeast, south central, and southeast Mississippi. * WHEN...From 11 AM to 8 PM CDT Wednesday. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat related illnesses. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The threat for dangerous heat will continue into later this week. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
