URGENT - WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Norman OK 1251 AM CDT Thu Aug 13 2026 ...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM CDT FRIDAY... * WHAT...Air temperatures as high as 105 and heat indices as high as 110. Overnight lows only drop to around 80 each morning. * WHERE...Portions of central, east central, northwest, southeast, southern, southwest, and western Oklahoma and northern Texas. * WHEN...Until 8 PM CDT Friday. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
