URGENT - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED Flood Watch National Weather Service Lincoln IL 947 PM CDT Fri Aug 14 2026 ...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH SATURDAY MORNING... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of central and west central Illinois, including the following counties, in central Illinois, Marshall, Mason, McLean, Peoria, Stark, Tazewell and Woodford. In west central Illinois, Fulton, Knox and Schuyler. * WHEN...Through Saturday morning. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Area creeks and streams are running high and could flood with more heavy rain. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - A large area of 3 to 5 inches of rain has fallen since Thursday morning. Thunderstorms are expected to move in again late this evening, becoming widespread after midnight. An additional 1 to 3 inches is likely to fall overnight and Saturday morning. With the ground already saturated, it will not take much additional rain to cause renewed flooding. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.
