Coastal Hazard Message National Weather Service San Diego CA 119 AM PDT Thu Aug 27 2026 ...BEACH HAZARDS STATEMENT REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH THIS EVENING... * WHAT...Elevated surf of 3-5 feet with sets up to 7 feet expected along with dangerous rip currents and minor coastal flooding. * WHERE...San Diego County coastal areas and Orange County coastal areas, particularly along south and southwest-facing beaches. * WHEN...Through this evening. * IMPACTS...Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions and localized beach erosion. Flooding of low lying beach parking lots, boardwalks, and roads. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...High tides peak around 6.2 to 6.5 feet from 8-10 PM PDT this evening. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A beach hazards statement is issued when threats such as strong rip currents...elevated surf heights...minor tidal overflow...or lightning are possible at local beaches. Obey posted warning signs and flags and talk to a lifeguard before swimming. Use caution when in or near the water and always swim near a lifeguard.
