URGENT - WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Raleigh NC 803 PM EDT Wed Sep 2 2026 ...HEAT ADVISORY HAS EXPIRED... ...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM TO 8 PM EDT THURSDAY... * WHAT...Heat index values up to 108 expected on Thursday. * WHERE...The Coastal Plain and a majority of the eastern Piedmont and Sandhills. * WHEN...From 11 AM to 8 PM EDT Thursday. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
