URGENT - WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service New York NY 248 PM EDT Fri Sep 25 2026 ...WIND ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 AM EDT SUNDAY... * WHAT...Sustained northeast winds 20 to 25 mph, locally up to 30-35 mph. Wind gusts 40-50 mph, locally up to 55 mph. * WHERE...Portions of southern Connecticut and southeast New York. * WHEN...Until 6 AM EDT Sunday. * IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The strong winds will last for a very long duration, possibly exceeding 24-36 hours. Considering the long duration rain fall and full foliage of trees, impacts may be exacerbated. The highest localized winds are expected to occur on eastern Long Island and southern New London county.
