URGENT - WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Los Angeles/Oxnard CA 946 AM PDT Wed Sep 30 2026 ...EXTREME HEAT WATCH IN EFFECT FROM FRIDAY MORNING THROUGH THURSDAY, OCTOBER 08... * WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with temperatures up to 90 at the coast and 105 in the valleys. * WHERE...Coast and valleys of Los Angeles and Ventura Counties. * WHEN...From Friday morning through Thursday, October 08. * IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat events. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Very hot temperatures are likely to continue into the second week of October, possibly requiring an extension of this product. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.
