URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Fairbanks AK 448 PM AKST Thu Dec 6 2018 ...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL MIDNIGHT AKST FRIDAY NIGHT... * WHAT...Heavy snow and blowing snow occurring. Travel will be very difficult. Storm total snow accumulations of 10 inches, are expected. Visibility will be near zero. * WHERE...St Lawrence Island and Bering Strait Coast. * WHEN...Until midnight Friday night. The strongest winds and heaviest snow are expected tonight through Friday, with winds slowly decreasing Friday night. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Winds gusting as high as 70 mph will cause near zero visibility in blowing snow. Large snow drifts will form. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Winter Storm Warning for snow and blowing snow means severe winter weather conditions are occurring. This will make travel very hazardous or impossible.
